Choose who receives it

Send to individuals, everyone with a status (for example all first-timers), a tag, a group or a branch. ChurchBright removes duplicates and skips people who have opted out of that channel.

Personalise

Use merge tags such as {first_name} so each person sees their own name.

SMS units

• One SMS unit is one standard text message page: up to 160 characters, or 70 characters if the message contains emoji or special characters.
• Longer messages use more units per person. The counter under the message box shows the characters and units before you send.
• Every plan includes a monthly SMS allowance, and you can buy more units from Billing.
• Your sender name (sender ID) may need approval in some countries.

WhatsApp and email

WhatsApp and email do not use SMS units. Emails use your church name and can include a button linking to a page, event or giving link.

Voice

For members who prefer calls — or who cannot read text messages easily — you can send a recorded voice message where voice calling is available in your country.

Respect opt-outs

Every person's profile has switches for SMS, WhatsApp and email. When someone asks you to stop, switch the channel off and they will not receive messages on it again.
