Connect your own domain

Your website always works at its free ChurchBright address. You can also connect a domain your church owns.

1. Add the domain

Go to Website → Domain, type your domain without https:// or www (for example gracechurch.org) and click Add domain.

2. Add the DNS records

Sign in where you bought the domain and open its DNS settings. Add the records shown on the Domain page:

• A TXT record named _churchbright with the verification value shown — this proves the domain is yours.
• A CNAME record for www pointing to the address shown.
• For the address without www, either add the A record shown (if there is one) or turn on your provider's forwarding from the bare domain to the www address.

3. Check DNS

Back in ChurchBright, click Check DNS. DNS changes usually work within an hour but can take up to 48 hours. Once verified, the domain shows as Active and your website opens there.

Troubleshooting

• Make sure there is only one record for www. Remove old ones pointing to a previous website.
• Some providers add your domain name automatically — if so, enter just _churchbright and www as the names.
• Still stuck? Contact support with a screenshot of your DNS settings.
